Ma'wa Moments: Highlights and Happenings

Trip Lead Application, 2025 Trip Announcements, and Trip Recaps!

Assalamu Alaikum, we hope you are all doing well! We can’t believe that 2024 is slowly coming to an end. This was Ma’wa Collective’s first full calendar year running trips since our organization was started, and we are beyond proud of the 26 domestic and international trips we have facilitated this year.

Our last domestic trip of the year is our Ma’wa Mamas Palm Springs Retreat (December 6 - 8th). As a reminder, trips in the Ma’wa Mamas series are exclusive to women age 40+, whether they have children or not. Our last international trip is our Patagonia W Trek (December 19 - 25th) with 16 women flying in from all over the US to Puerto Natales to start their 5 day hiking trip! Keep them in your duas 🤲

And for our girlies that can’t wait for our trips in 2025, 🚨 mark your calendars 🚨: we will be announcing our January trips this Wednesday, November 13th at 6 pm PST/ 9 pm EST 📅. Trips will be released on our website!

We are also incredibly proud of the success of our recent fundraising campaign with Asiyah Women’s Center. In alignment with Asiyah’s Miles4Migrants program, we aimed to raise at least $6,000 to support a family from Gaza recently resettled in New York City as refugees. By the grace of Allah and the generosity and support of this community, Alhamdulillah we ended the fundraiser with $9,813 raised and donated! Read more about the campaign, Abo Ismail’s family, and Asiyah Women's Center’s incredible work on our LaunchGood page.

Trip Lead Application

Join Our Team: We are looking for the next generation of leaders for Ma’wa Collective! We are opening up applications for Trip Leads based in the US and Canada for our upcoming 2025 trips 🏕️

If you’ve been on one of our trips before, you know how critical Trip Leads are to the success of a Trip, and the ability of Ma’wa Collective to continue offering trips is dependent on having strong Trip Leads that can effectively facilitate our experiences. If you can effectively manage large groups, love working with people, are comfortable in outdoor environments and passionate about sharing nature in your region with other Muslim women, you may be a good fit!

This is a paid opportunity! Additional qualifications and role requirements are outlined in our Trip Lead Expectations, which can be found here.

Application deadline is November 26th, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. For questions about the role or application, please email [email protected].
